Description
An old Kanto Inari Sotsukasa shrine (the top Kanto area shrines dedicated to Inari), established in the middle of the Heian period. It was a place of prayer for each succeeding shogun during the Edo period. The current main building was built by the 11th Shogun, Tokugawa Ienari, and is famous as the setting for the classic rakugo (a form of verbal entertainment), ”Ojino Kitsune.”
