Minami Aoyama Shimizu-Yu

The sento is a familiar institution in popular Japanese culture. Minami-Aoyama Shimizu-yu, in the stylish town of Minami-aoyama, is a modern, reborn sento and place of relaxation for city dwellers. Here, the attention to quality is evident, with each bath prepared using special soft water. At the concentrated carbonate-spring and silk baths, bubbles of carbon dioxide provide a spa-like sensation. There is also a sauna, and a rain shower in which hot water streams down evenly from large, German-made shower heads. No towel or soap or shampoo? No problem — all are provided. They even sell underwear and have a laundromat. After bathing, you can enjoy drinks such as Belgian beer at the hygienic resting area.
