Nikko natural science museum

The Nikko Natural Science Museum is located between Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji, and exhibits the nature and history of the area, engages in a wide range of activities including providing information of nature as an information hub for the region, advising on hiking trails, and holding nature experience events.

The facility includes a nature exhibition which introduces the nature of Oku-Nikko, including sections on its geography and how this developed, forests, waterfalls, lakes and resort life, and animals, a culture exhibition that introduces historic peoples of Oku-Nikko, including information on temple founding monk Shodo Shonin and Nikko Shugendo Buddhism, and the Four Seasons Hall which shows video about Oku-Nikko, including how Mount Nantai was created through a volcanic eruption, the changes brought by the four seasons, and the flow of water and life found in the area. You can also find other information related to nature and tourism to help visitors enjoy Oku-Nikko safely and securely.

We are located adjacent to Chuzenji-onsen bus stop, which is 40 minutes from Nikko station.
