Description
The facility is located in the north-western part of Sayama-kyuryo Hills, a verdant area of some 85.5 hectares depicted in the animated film ”My Neighbor Totoro.”Saitama Midori-no-mori Museum opened in July 1995 in response to citizens' desire to protect the natural environment of the hills and its habitat for wild animals.This field museum showcases natural satoyama landscapes such as wooded areas and swamps, which have been valued since olden times.From the promenade you can observe various animals throughout the year; children as well as adults will enjoy the nature of satoyama. Take a Seibu bus for Miyadera-nishi or Kaneko-eki-iriguchi from the Seibu-Ikebukuro Line Kotesashi Station South Exit. It takes around 25 minutes on a bus. Get off the bus at the Ogiwara bus stop, and walk for around 10 minutes.
