1. Taisho Modern Villa Zen: 100 Years Back in Time to Old Japan

Taisho Modern Villa Zen is a two-story Japanese cottage located about 5 minutes on foot from Ohiradai Station on the Hakone Tozan Line.

Living Room

This cottage, renovated from a Japanese home, is designed according to the concept of Taisho Modern. The term Taisho Modern (or Taisho Roman) refers to the fashion and culture the Taisho Era (1912-1926), which had been influenced by Western culture. The eclectic patterns and colors of this Japanese-Western style are still popular today, and the colorful antique interior will have you feeling as if you've traveled back in time!

There is a tatami bedroom on the second floor. Open the shoji screen, and watch the mountains of Hakone spread out before you like a painting.

The room can accommodate a maximum of 11 guests. The living room has a bar counter and there are 3 bedrooms.

It also includes a fully-equipped kitchen where you can cook your own meals using your own ingredients.

The English-speaking owner is very familiar with Hakone, and will tell you all about the local hot springs and hidden shops. You may even be able to enjoy a guided deep city walk! Free Wi-Fi is also available.

2. Grand Tree Hakone Sengokuhara: A Japanese Winter Experience Under a Cozy Kotatsu!

Grand Tree Hakone Sengokuhara (Ashigarashimo-gun House/Vacation STAY 46655) is a Hakone villa with a spacious garden. It is located about 30 minutes from Hakone Yumoto Station by bus, and about 3 minutes on foot from Sengoku Kogen bus stop.

This one-story villa connects a Japanese-style room to the living room and kitchen. This Japanese-style room, similar to an authentic inn, can comfortably accommodate a large group of people, and even includes a kotatsu for cold days.

The Japanese-style tatami bedroom has both a traditional futon as well as a full bed, so you can sleep in comfort regardless of your preference.

For dinner, eat at a nearby restaurant, or cook your own meals in the kitchen! Everything you need is available, including a microwave, rice cooker, electric kettle, cookware, and tableware. The convenience store is also only a 1-minute walk away.

The management staff can speak Japanese, English, and Chinese. If you have any concerns during your stay, you can also contact them by phone. Free Wi-Fi is also available.
