Kagura Ski Resort is Japan’s largest ski resort, spreading across the slopes of the 2,029-m Mt. Kagura. Divided into three areas, Kagura, Mitsumata, and Tashiro, this ski resort features 23 ski trails, 12 lifts, 5 quad lifts, 1 gondola lift, and 2 ropeway lifts, and the longest run stretches out to 6,000 meters. From the Tashiro area you can also visit the nearby Naeba Ski Resort via the Dragondola, Japan's longest gondola.
The Kagura main trail attracts skiers for its thrilling powder snow, grand vistas, and exciting trails. There's a great variety of trails, such as those for advanced skiers who crave the challenges of moguls and steep runs, plus forest trails, and gentler slopes for beginners. The Mitsumata area has a ski slope for children as well as an attraction zone equipped with rails and boxes.
The Kagura and Mitsumata areas are open from the end of November to the end of May, making it an attractive option for spring skiers. During summer, the ski resort is open as Kagura Summer Gelande, where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding on snow mats.
