Description
Built more than 1,200 years ago, this shrine is the highest-ranking shrine in Oshu. Its deities are worshipped as the guardians of seafarers bringing in big catches and providers of household safety and successful childbirth. The precious Zuishinmon gate built during the Edo period, together with the main hall and Haiden, have been designated National Important Cultural Properties and offer much to see.
