Description
The temple was founded in 1674 as the mausoleum for Date Masamune’s grandson Mitsumune. The highlights of the temple include the Sankeiden, which is a national important cultural property, and the exquisite garden. The moss dry landscape garden is embellished with seasonal flowers, and is lit up at night during the autumn leave season. The Sankeiden, which is located at the back of the garden, is the oldest existing mausoleum in Miyagi.
