USJ Halloween 2026 Food & Merch Guide: Zombie Bar, Hamikuma, Chainsaw Man & Resident Evil

Already excited after checking out Universal Studios Japan’s Halloween rides, shows, and horror attractions? There’s plenty more waiting once you get hungry, because Universal Studios Japan is going all-in on creepy-cute food, limited-edition treats, and Halloween merchandise for 2026.
This year is especially big, marking both Universal Studios Japan’s 25th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights. The lineup includes the park’s first nighttime-only Zombie Bar, delightfully strange school-festival snacks, and collaborations with huge horror titles including Chainsaw Man, Resident Evil, and Junji Ito.
We tried and checked out a selection of this year’s most talked-about food and merchandise firsthand. Here’s what’s worth eating, photographing, and bringing home from USJ Halloween 2026.

Part 1: Creepy-Cute Halloween Food Made for Photos
1. USJ’s First Nighttime-Only Zombie Bar
- Location
- Wharf Cafe (available after 6 PM)
- Highlights
- Once the sun goes down, zombie staff take over the cafe and start serving suitably spooky drinks and desserts. Photo-ready picks include the Cute Zombie Strawberry Milk, Horror Bear Chocolate Sundae (available through October 13), and the Chainsaw Zombie Blood Orange Lemon Drink, served exclusively after 6 PM.
- Editor’s Pick: Circus Zombie Madness ～Lychee Non-Alcoholic Sour～ (Available After 6 PM)
- This drink is mixed right in front of you by zombie staff and takes inspiration from the park’s zombies of years past.
- What We Thought
- The first thing you’ll notice is the surprisingly realistic “eyeball” floating on top, but don’t worry. It’s actually a chewy gummy candy. The refreshing lychee soda is light and easy to drink, making it especially welcome in Osaka’s lingering late-summer heat.
It’s completely alcohol-free, so both adults and kids can enjoy it. If you’re an adult looking for something with a little more kick, try the alcoholic Chainsaw Zombie Blood Orange Lemon Drink instead.
- Editor’s Pick: Zombie Banana Ice Cream ～Does a Banana Count as a Snack?～
- This nighttime-only ice cream comes with a wonderfully silly backstory: a student asks the classic question, “Teacher, does a banana count as a snack?” only for both the student and the banana to end up infected by the zombie virus.
- What We Thought
- Bite through the lightly sweet, crisp coating and you’re hit with a surprisingly rich banana flavor. It’s easy to eat on the go, making it a great little cool-down treat while wandering the park on a Halloween night.
One thing to keep in mind is that this ice cream is only available in the evening.
2. Wildly Creative Snacks from the “High School Zombie Festival”

- Editor’s Pick: Muscle Overload! Zombie Football Club Cheese & Beef Rib Rice Hot Dog
- Inspired by a football club obsessed with bulking up, this seriously loaded hot dog is stuffed with beef rib rice, then topped with crispy onions and melted cheese.
- What We Thought
- This one is packed from top to bottom. The bun is loaded with fragrant garlic-butter rice, savory beef ribs, rich cheese sauce, and crunchy toppings.
There’s so much filling it almost spills out with every bite, and the mix of textures makes it especially satisfying. It’s also seriously filling, making it a great choice if you want something substantial before heading back into the Halloween action.
3. Halloween Favorite Hamikuma Gets a Creepy-Cute Food Makeover

- Studio Stars Restaurant
- Highlights
- Studio Stars Restaurant goes all out with character-themed Halloween dishes. Alongside the hugely popular Hamikuma, you’ll also find seasonal creations inspired by Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and more. The restaurant itself is decked out in cute Halloween decorations too, making it worth a stop if you’re after plenty of photo opportunities.
- Editor’s Pick: Cocoa-Scented Bacon & Pork Cutlet Burger Plate
- This wildly chaotic burger plate recreates all the strange things bursting out of Hamikuma. It comes with a cocoa-flavored bun, colorful vegetables, and popcorn scattered around the plate for maximum visual mayhem.
- What We Thought
- The cocoa-flavored black bun is packed with a thick pork cutlet and savory bacon, making this much more substantial than its cute appearance might suggest. Whether you order it for Hamikuma or simply want a filling meal, it definitely delivers.
- Editor’s Pick: Hamikuma Candy Family Berry Cake
- This brightly colored berry cake is inspired by Hamikuma Candy and the rest of the family. Popping candy scattered around the plate adds an extra playful twist.
- What We Thought
- It makes a great dessert after the main course, with its vivid orange color giving it a distinctly Halloween look. The real surprise is the popping candy around the plate, which crackles away in your mouth and makes the whole dessert even more fun.
- Editor’s Pick: Blackcurrant & Grape Soda with Random Coaster
- Topped with colorful mixed berries, this refreshing soda combines blackcurrant and grape flavors. Each drink also comes with one randomly selected original coaster from a set of six.

- A refreshing drink is exactly what you want after a rich meal, but the coaster is arguably half the fun. We got especially lucky and pulled the Hamikuma design, which was almost too cute to use.
Part 2: Must-Try Food for Anime & Game Fans
1. Resident Evil “Recovery Items” You Can Actually Eat

- Highlights
- Created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil, these collaboration foods turn familiar elements from the games into themed snacks you can actually eat.
- Editor’s Pick: Green Herb Recovery Croissant Hot Dog ～Basil Sauce & Chicken～
- Inspired by the iconic Green Herb recovery item from the games, this croissant hot dog is packed with colorful vegetables and chicken, then finished with basil sauce for a suitably restorative meal.
- What We Thought
- Instead of a regular hot dog bun, this one uses a crisp, flaky croissant filled with chicken, red pepper, zucchini, and plenty of other vegetables. The basil sauce gives it an almost pizza-like flavor.
It’s surprisingly substantial and works especially well as a quick breakfast or early meal before diving into the Resident Evil attractions.
2. Adorably Chaotic Chainsaw Man Treats

- Highlights
- The lineup includes the Chainsaw Bun, a meat curry-filled snack modeled after the series’ hero, plus the ridiculously cute Pochita Orange & Vanilla Frozen Sundae, complete with a spot-on recreation of Pochita’s little backside.
3. Halloween Horror Nights 15th Anniversary Sets with Random Coasters
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights, USJ has created two suitably spooky meal sets. Order either one and you’ll receive one randomly selected original coaster featuring artwork from past group-dance songs or popular zombies.

- A jet-black burger topped with rich cheese sauce and deep-red sauce dripping over the sides for an appropriately gruesome Halloween look.

Once you’ve eaten your way around the park, it’s time to hit the shops. USJ’s Halloween merchandise lineup is especially strong this year, covering everything from original park characters to major game collaborations, with plenty of temptation along the way.
1. Hamikuma Merch Is Back and Creepier-Cuter Than Ever
Hamikuma merchandise is always one of the biggest Halloween draws at USJ, and this year’s lineup is packed with new designs and fun little details.

Some of USJ’s most familiar characters are dressing up for Halloween too, showing off a very different side from their usual look.

- Snoopy gets transformed into a cursed patchwork doll while still somehow looking ready to enjoy Halloween. It makes a fun souvenir after a night of Halloween Horror Nights.
- Hello Kitty, My Melody & Kuromi Plushies
- Hello Kitty looks especially cute in her eye patch and Street Zombie-inspired outfit. The detailed Halloween costumes are a major part of the appeal, with My Melody and Kuromi joining in on the spooky makeover too.
3. Resident Evil Gear Fans Will Want to Suit Up
Resident Evil fans may want to brace their wallets, because the collaboration merchandise goes well beyond simple souvenirs.

- You can pick up gear that lets you dress the part as an R.P.D. officer or member of the D.S.O. For maximum immersion, wear it while taking on the new Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive horror maze.
There are also plenty of stranger finds, including a highly detailed Licker tissue case. It’s practical, unsettling, and exactly the sort of thing Resident Evil fans may struggle to leave behind.
4. Halloween Popcorn Buckets You’ll See Everywhere
A trip to USJ hardly feels complete without spotting guests carrying elaborate popcorn buckets around the park. This year’s Halloween designs come with sound effects, creepy details, and plenty of personality.

- Hamikuma returns as a popcorn bucket, complete with three exclusive voice lines, including a suitably characterful message about returning as a popcorn bucket once again this year.
- Hamikuma Candy Popcorn Bucket
- The newly introduced pink Hamikuma Candy version looks adorable at first glance, but the contrast gets wonderfully weird when it delivers lines like “Trick or Treat!” in an eerie voice. It also comes with three different voice lines.
- Resident Evil Licker Popcorn Bucket
- For something considerably less cute, the Resident Evil Licker bucket goes all-in on gruesome detail. From the exposed muscle texture to the visible brain, the sculpting is impressively realistic and guaranteed to stand out as you walk around the park.
