Konpeitou Museum Yao

Konpeitou (Confeito) is a Nanban confectionery came from Portugal. Japanese Konpeitou ,however,has thorns and is as cute as a star.

It takes about 10 days to make Konpeitou. These candies are made by pouring granulated sugar into a huge rotating pot, repeatedly cover with syrup and keep it dry.

We have original Konpeitou workshop and you can enjoy the last part of coloring and flavoring.
For example, you make pink color with soda flavor Konpeitou first. And then you take out half and pour blue color syrup with cherry flavor on the remaining Konpeitou. What will happen? It is a rare experience with using individuality and imagination. You can taste the warm,freshly made Konpeitou. This workshop is popular among families, couples, friends, and good for events.

Of course it is also recommended for foreigners ! It is said that Oda Nobunaga was the first Japanese famous war lord to eat Konpeitou, and its historical culture is very interesting as well.
