Osaka Museum of History

大阪歴史博物館

Description

You'll find the Osaka Museum of History lies at the north-western edge of the Naniwa-no-Miya Historical Park. Completed in 2001 as part of a project to continuously unite the Naniwa-no-Miya site with Osaka Castle Park, the museum was built within the remains of Naniwa-no-Miya Palace, a site boasting a history of more than 1,350 years. The museum's seventh to tenth floors are permanent exhibition galleries that introduce the Asuka period in Naniwa-no-Miya Palace's past, as well as Osaka's medieval, early modern, modern, and present periods using life-size reconstructions, scale models, and key photographs. The abundant genuine artifacts and experiential exhibitions make it a place to learn about Osaka's rich history and culture.
