Recharge and Relax with a Healing Getaway at Kamenoi Hotel Toba
- Written by: LIVE JAPAN Editor
If you’ve ever felt weighed down by rushing through each day, it might be time to step away and give both body and mind a gentle pause. Instead of following the usual hectic pace, consider a journey that restores you.
Perched on a hill overlooking Toba Bay in Mie Prefecture, Kamenoi Hotel Toba offers just that. Surrounded by clear sea breezes and the quiet beauty of nature, it’s a place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself.
Spacious rooms with ocean views

Particularly recommended are the new Junior and Family Suites with terraces offering breathtaking views of Toba Bay, and the Deluxe Room ~Sea Breeze Terrace~ featuring an open-air bath. Their spacious layout makes them perfect for families, couples, and groups of friends.

You can relax in a spacious room.

Guests can choose from tranquil Japanese-style twin rooms and Japanese-Western style rooms. All rooms are equipped with beds featuring headboards with built-in power outlets, along with a variety of convenient charging plugs and toiletries. The plugs are compatible with different devices, so do not worry if you forget your charging cable.
To suit any travel needs, the hotel also offers the Superior Triple Room and Standard Twin Room, which are ideal for families, couples, and groups of friends.

Relax in natural hot springs and picturesque open-air baths

At the hotel’s signature Shioka-no-Yu hot springs bath, you can enjoy panoramic views of Toba Bay from both the large indoor and open-air baths. Soak in the soothing waters as the sea breeze drifts by, leaving daily worries behind. In the evening, relax under a starlit sky, and in the morning, welcome the gentle glow of sunrise—a truly special experience.

In the Deluxe Room with a private open-air bath, you can indulge in bathing in your own tub. Afterwards, cool off on the terrace and savor the exclusive luxury.
Savor seasonal flavors of Ise-Shima at dinner and breakfast
A buffet featuring blessings from the sea and the land of Ise-Shima.
There are two dinner options to choose from.

Kaiseki cuisine
Savor Matsusaka beef, spiny lobster, abalone, and other premium ingredients that exemplify the finest of Mie’s regional cuisine. Seasonal sashimi and artfully prepared small dishes highlight the region’s flavors, adding a sense of luxury to your journey.
Buffet
Delight in local cuisine and regional ingredients through a variety of dishes. This September, a new luxurious menu has been introduced: Matsusaka beef shabu-shabu for dinner, served in an open kitchen setting, and a 90-minute all-you-can-eat crab feast for breakfast.

The guest-exclusive “Nighttime Dandan Noodles,” available from 9 PM to 10:30 PM, are also very popular. This special menu offers three varieties: red, black, and white, which rotate monthly.
Relax and enjoy the surrounding attractions
The hotel’s location makes it an ideal base for sightseeing. Ise Shrine is around 30 minutes away by car, and Toba Aquarium and Mikimoto Pearl Island are also close by, making it easy to include them in your itinerary. You can get a glimpse into traditional culture by visiting ama huts along Toba’s charming seaside.
Ise Shrine
Japan’s most sacred shrine, it holds a special place in the hearts of Japanese people and is considered one of a kind. Enjoy a visit to the shrine and a leisurely stroll through theOkage Yokocho.

We recommend visiting Toba after exploring Tokyo or Osaka.
Unlike the hustle and bustle of large cities, Toba offers a tranquil travel experience where you can enjoy the natural surroundings, the serene sea, and the kindness of local people.
Spending your stay immersed in the unique culture and environment of Ise-Shima will provide a break from urban life.
