Description

Continuing the journey to the local area

This is Kyoto Sanjo, which was once depicted as the starting/ending point of the Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido.

It is a place where people and things from all over the country gathered and created new culture.

We will develop various content with local players from all over Japan based on this context.

We hope that our activities will bring new excitement to the city of Kyoto and provide an opportunity for visitors to travel to attractive local areas of Japan.

<About the existing building>
This building is the former Nippon Life Kyoto Sanjo Building, which is partially a registered tangible cultural property.

The cultural property part of the building, which began construction in 1912 and was completed in 1914, was designed by the Tatsuno & Kataoka Architectural Office, led by Tatsuno Kingo, known for Tokyo Station, and their style is well reflected in the stone-clad exterior. Currently, all that remains is one span of the company building facing Yanagi-no-Baba Street, which was demolished in 1983, leaving only that part, and the office building was expanded.
