Description
For over 500 years, from the Nanboku-cho period to the Meiji period, this was the Imperial Palace where the emperor resided. The massive palace is located inside Kyoto Gyoen National Garden, and retains its original appearance to this very day. It was opened to the public for the entirety of 2016, allowing anyone to come and visit without a reservation.
