Six Senses Kyoto

Kyoto, the former capital and still the center of Japanese culture and history, is home to numerous attractions, including temples, shrines, the Imperial Palace, traditional architecture, beautiful cherry blossoms, and mountains covered with centuries-old cedar trees that surround the city. Located in the quiet Higashiyama district, this hotel is a short walk from Myoho-in Temple, Kyoto National Museum, and Rengeo-in Temple (Sanjusangendo), and is a tranquil hideaway inspired by the elegant art and culture of the Heian period.

The design, inspired by the Tale of Genji, and the ancient folklore motifs scattered throughout the hotel, were inspired by the elegant aesthetics and graceful sensibility of the Heian period, when Japan's unique artistic culture flourished at its peak. The 81 rooms and suites have different views depending on the room type, and you can choose from the hotel's courtyard, the city of Kyoto, or the garden of the neighboring Toyokuni Shrine.
