At Kyoto Takasegawa Bettei, we wanted you to feel at home in a traditional Kyoto townhouse, so we paid particular attention to the exterior, interior, and furnishings.

■All rooms have individual PIN numbers for entry (keyless), so there is no need for bothersome check-outs.

■All bathrooms are equipped with Japanese-made "cypress baths." The "cypress baths," which have the effect of relaxing and relieving stress, were custom-made. (*There is no hot spring.)

■We provide "Imabari towels" that are gentle on the body, as well as comfortable Simmons beds.

■Amenities include L'Occitane, a natural cosmetic brand born in Provence, southern France.

■In addition to a 40-inch LCD TV and bathroom dryer, rooms also come equipped with an air purifier with humidifier, and a microwave.

■The coffee bowls, teacups, and plates provided in the rooms are all made to order, using Kiyomizu ware.
