Genko-an Temple

源光庵

Description

This ancient temple was constructed during the Muromachi period. The temple is famous for its two different windows that look out on a beautiful natural garden: the round “Window of Enlightenment” and the square “Window of Confusion”. It’s also well-known for its ”bloody ceiling” that reused materials from the fallen Fushimi Castle. The foliage in autumn is beautiful.
