Description
Toujin Temple is a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism. It was founded by Takauji Ashikaga during the Muromachi period. After Takauji’s death, the temple has served as a mausoleum for the Ashikaga family. The temple garden with a circular path around a pond is located on the northern side of the temple and was created by Muso Soseki.
