Kyoto Prefectural Insho-Domoto Museum of Fine Arts
京都府立堂本印象美術館
Description
This art museum was established in 1966 during the Showa period by the Nihonga painter, Insho Domoto. Insho designed everything from the outside all the way down to doorknobs and lights. This collection is a massive compilation of his works that go beyond Nihonga paintings to include all sorts of original creations of his, including carvings, pottery, class, metalwork, and dyed and woven fabrics. The charm of this museum is that the entire space itself can be enjoyed as a single work.
