About Kyoto's Gion Festival
Boasting a history of 1150 years, Kyoto's Gion Festival is one of Japan's three major festivals. Various events are held over one month, usually from July 1. The festival attracts many tourists, with a particular highlight being the Yamahoko Junko, a parade of gorgeous floats around the city center.
To enjoy the Gion Festival and maximize your time in Kyoto, we recommend staying at comfortable accommodation located conveniently near the parade route.
