Description
This is the temple where the daughter of Taira no Kiyomori, Taira no Tokuko, became a priestess and spent the rest of her life. The grounds are home to many items connected to The Tale of the Heike, including the pond “Migiwa no Sakura” that Emperor Go-Shirakawa mentioned in his poetry.
