Uji is an interesting city in Japan and Byodoin is an important part of its history. As we have a replica on Oahu, it was great to see the original in Uji. It is also the temple on the 10 yen coin...Visited May 2025 -

Not sure why so many people recommend this place. It's maybe a 10 minute walkthrough and you've seen it all. Also seemed to be a bit of a tourist trap, not worth the journey from Waikiki.Visited May 2025
