Description
Ichi no Yu is the first bath on a list of open-air baths in Kinosaki said to bring patrons good luck should you bathe in all seven. The bath's name comes from the praise heaped upon it by the founder of hot spring science, Shutoku Kagawa, who recorded it as being the best on Earth in his writings collection, “Yakusen”. Even ancient feudal lords used to make journeys to this hot spring. The building exterior features Momoyama period architecture and is representative of the scenery in Kinosaki. The interior features modern architecture and the bath is famous for its mystical cave bath.
