For the cost I found himeji castle not worth it - the exterior was splendid but the tour inside the castle was nothing more than shuffling in a long line towards every staircase to climb steep stairs...Visited September 2026 -

If you are in Osaka, make sure you visit Himeji Castle. Only 40 mins by Shinkansen from Shin Osaka and you will see this treasure. Come in early, you will need 2 hours for the castle and around 1...Visited September 2026
