Description

This famous Tendai temple was built in 966 AD, following the steady erection of impressive monasteries along the 371-meter summit. Considered one of the top three Tendai sect temples alongside Enryakuji Temple and Oyamaji Temple, the grounds are a designated historical sight. The temple is home to numerous important cultural properties, including the Daikodo (main hall), the Jikido (dining area), and the Maniden (temple hall).
