Komazawa Olympic Park

It is an extensive, nature-rich general sports park that was used as a second venue for the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The Olympic commemorative tower has been standing high in the central plaza since the Olympics. Within this park, there are several sports facilities, such as a gymnasium, baseball ground, athletic field, and tennis courts, and this park serves as the venue for various sports competitions. The training room, with a substantial number of machines for weight training and aerobic exercises, is available for personal use as well. Programs such as calisthenics and aerobic exercises are offered at the studio. There are also many park amenities, such as a jogging/cycling course, a paddling pond, and a dog run that everybody from children to adults can have fun. Nature occupies about 30 percent of the total area, so it is very suitable for people who likes walking. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of each season, such as cherry blossoms in the spring and colorful foliage in the fall. It is a 15-minute walk from the Komazawa Daigaku Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line. There are buses to the Komazawa Koen Stop from the station.
