Japanese calligrapher Seimei Kiyosumi

Japanese calligrapher Seimei Kiyosumi (1970-) is particularly valuable for his ability of enhancing his artistry in not only traditional calligraphic expression but also modern art by making contemporary Japanese legible.

As early as in his twenties, he won the grand prize at a major Japanese calligraphy exhibition in Japan, and has received numerous other awards since then. He also worked at the University of Tokyo, that is one of Japan's top universities, located in the capital city of Tokyo, where he was involved in the study of ancient Japanese manuscripts, manual copying of ancient manuscripts, and teaching students. Furthermore, now he is actively involved in philanthropic activities, including donating his works to a national hospital.
