Description
At 2291 meters, Asahidake is the tallest mountain in the Daisetsuzan mountains, in Hokkaido, and north of Mt. Hiuchigatake in Oze National Park (around 2350 meters). Mt. Asahidake can be partially scaled from Asahidaira by ropeway.
An 85-minute trip from Asahikawa Station on the Asahikawa Denkikidou for Asahidake, change at the last stop for a ten-minute trip on the Asahidake Ropeway, then a 150-minute hike from Sugatami Station
