Abashiri Drift Ice Sighteseeing & Icebreaker Ship Aurora

Description

It's not every day you get to ride on an icebreaker ship, which uses the weight of the ship to break ice with its bow. If that fails, sometimes they'll back up before putting on speed to break through. Even so, the Aurora 1 and 2 are sizable ships, with a capacity for 440 people, and experience little shaking. The ships include a coffee lounge, and on the observation deck, you can feel the sea breeze as you survey the drift ice around you.
