Okinawa's rainy season ends on June 20

The Okinawa Meteorological Observatory announced on Thursday, June 20, that the rainy season has ended in Okinawa. Typically, the rainy season in Okinawa ends around June 21, so this year follows the usual pattern.
During Japan's rainy season, continuous rain is expected. Okinawa Island entered the rainy season on May 21 this year, and by June, the rainfall increased significantly. Naha City recorded 763.5 mm of rain by June 19, the third-highest amount on record.
Looking ahead, Okinawa will experience continuous sunny days typical of summer. While there may still be sudden showers, these will be brief, unlike the prolonged rains of the rainy season.
Kinki, Tokai, and Kanto Koshinetsu regions entered the rainy season later than normal on June 21

Meanwhile, the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that the Kinki, Tokai, and Kanto-Koshinetsu regions entered the rainy season today, June 21. This year's rainy season in these regions began about two weeks later than usual, and there is a risk of heavy rain across a wide area. It's important to stay updated with the latest weather information.
Last year, the rainy season ended around July 16 in the Kinki and Tokai regions and around July 22 in the Kanto-Koshinetsu region.
As summer arrives in Okinawa, take precautions against heat stroke!

Summer has arrived early in Okinawa, making it the perfect season for beach leisure and sightseeing. Across the region, daytime highs are expected to exceed 30°C (86°F), and tropical nights with temperatures remaining above 25°C (77°F) are forecasted. Enjoy the activities while taking precautions against heatstroke and strong UV rays.
