Snow Peak's Twice-Yearly Sepposai Returns This Autumn with Limited Gear, Events & Special Deals

Date published: 15 September 2026

If you have ever wandered into a Snow Peak store in Japan and found yourself tempted by its beautifully designed outdoor gear, October is about to give you even more reasons to take a closer look.

Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak is bringing back Sepposai 2026 Autumn, its twice-yearly festival for fans, on October 3-4, 2026. For two days, Snow Peak stores and campgrounds around Japan will roll out limited-edition gear, special sales, workshops, food, and outdoor events.

The biggest celebration takes place at the brand's sprawling Snow Peak HEADQUARTERS Campfield in Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, where the festivities go well beyond shopping. Think local sake, outdoor tea, campfire lounges, workshops, food stalls, and enough camping gear to make your checked-baggage allowance feel suddenly inadequate.

Sepposai (written 雪峰祭 in Japanese) is Snow Peak’s regular thank-you festival for customers and local communities.

It takes place twice a year, in spring and autumn, at Snow Peak's headquarters in Niigata as well as at participating stores and campgrounds across Japan. Limited merchandise is a major draw, but visitors can also expect outlet sales and venue-specific events.

For travelers already familiar with Snow Peak, it can be a fun opportunity to pick up something that is considerably harder to find outside Japan. For everyone else, the Niigata event offers an unusually immersive introduction to Japan’s camping culture.

Snow Peak is releasing a special collection made for Sepposai 2026 Autumn, ranging from serious camping equipment to decidedly easier-to-pack souvenirs. Online sales begin at 10 AM on October 3, while availability at physical stores varies.

The headline piece is the Living Shell 2026 EDITION, priced at 231,000 yen (tax included). This special version of Snow Peak's Living Shell comes with an inner room for two, allowing it to function as a compact two-room shelter.

For something slightly less likely to require its own luggage trolley, there is the Compact Nata at 13,200 yen (tax included), designed for chopping firewood and making feather sticks around camp.

Other limited pieces include
  • SP Gear Lead Wrist Strap. Black, gray, or navy straps for phones and small items (2,420 yen each; tax included)
  • TAKIBI Iron-On Patch Set. Iron-on patches inspired by Snow Peak’s Takibi fire pit (2,420 yen; tax included)
  • Field Hand Towel. Soft pile hand towel with high absorbency and moisture retention (2,420 yen; tax included)
  • Ti-Single 300 Cup Cover DARK OLIVE. Dark olive cover made for the Titanium Single Mug 300 (1,870 yen; tax included)
  • Field Eye Mask. Soft pile eye mask designed for comfort at camp or while traveling (3,960 yen; tax included)
  • Field Grocery Bag. Durable bag made from tear- and abrasion-resistant material, with loops for attaching to camping gear (7,700 yen; tax included)

While Sepposai takes place around Japan, Snow Peak’s headquarters in Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, hosts the largest-scale event.

Snow Peak HEADQUARTERS Campfield is attached to the company’s home base and spreads across a broad, grassy landscape overlooking the surrounding hills. On regular days, it is already a destination for campers, with open fields, beautiful sunsets, and particularly dark skies for stargazing.

During Sepposai, things become considerably busier.

More than 30 restaurants, shops, and workshop operators from around Niigata are scheduled to participate, turning the campground into something closer to an outdoor market crossed with a camping festival.

There are some distinctly Niigata touches in the lineup, too.

Asahi Shuzo, one of Niigata’s best-known sake breweries and the producer of Kubota, is scheduled to offer sake at the festival. Visitors can also look forward to an outdoor nodate tea gathering, camping equipment setup lessons, and a Takibi Lounge centered around one of Snow Peak’s favorite subjects: sitting around a fire.

For international visitors, that combination is arguably what makes the headquarters event particularly interesting. You could come primarily for the camping gear and end up sipping Niigata sake while chatting with other outdoor enthusiasts.

You don’t need to make the trip to Snow Peak HEADQUARTERS to get in on Sepposai. Outdoor enthusiasts around Japan can visit participating Snow Peak directly operated stores, Snow Peak Stores, and shop-in-shops nationwide, where limited-edition items, special sales, and other festival promotions will be available during the two-day event.

At stores participating in the LIVE JAPAN coupon campaign, shoppers can also enjoy extra Sepposai perks. Customers spending 30,000 yen or more on the day will receive a complimentary tenugui hand towel, while shoppers making a purchase can receive a Sepposai limited-edition sticker, while supplies last.

As Sepposai is Snow Peak’s twice-yearly thank-you festival, participating stores will also offer their own outlet sales on selected camping gear, with the lineup varying by location. That means there may be bargains to uncover beyond the festival-exclusive releases themselves.

And there is another bonus for LIVE JAPAN readers: you can use our exclusive coupon for additional savings on eligible purchases at participating stores. If Snow Peak gear is already on your Japan shopping list, the combination of limited items, store-specific outlet deals, festival gifts, and the LIVE JAPAN coupon makes October 3-4 an especially good time to stop by.
