It is located about a 7-minute walk in the direction of Daikanyama from Shibuya Station. Here you can savor an authentic Japanese-style breakfast, the umami and soup flavors popular throughout the world.

The FLUX CAFE embodies the unique Japanese quality of “harmony” and the menu has been carefully created by young proprietress of a long-established kappo [Japanese-style restaurant].

The company is also one that provides training solutions, and in keeping with that, it offers two basic menu types: a low-gluten delicious obanzai [home-cooked dish] for those who want to stay fit and eat well, and a protein-rich athlete's meal designed for those who like to work out. Breakfast is served between 9 and 11:30 in the morning.

This is the Okami no Asagohan [the Proprietress’ Breakfast] (800 yen including tax) which consists of grilled fish, tonjiru [miso soup with pork and vegetables], rice, raw egg, and pickles. The tonjiru, made only with vegetable stock, has a gentle, easy-to-become-accustomed-to flavor which, while being simple, proudly proclaims itself as being the original Japanese breakfast!

It is located about a 5-minute walk in the direction of Daikanyama from Shibuya Station. BUY ME STAND is a sandwich specialty shop that serves breakfast between 7 and 11 in the morning.

Five types of sandwiches are offered including: toad in the hole (650 yen excluding tax); egg, bacon, hash brown potatoes, toast in a breakfast plate (750 yen, excluding tax); minced meat, onion, paprika, and cheese grilled in an oven and called Strata (800 yen excluding tax); all come with coffee or tea.

The "toad in the hole" is egg that has been dropped in the middle of a slice of toast and then topped with mixed cheese and cheddar cheese. The partially cooked egg oozes out when you cut into it. Very delicious! To my own surprise I uttered my satisfaction aloud when I tried this superb sandwich.

The photos of the interior of the shop and the sandwiches often appear in magazines, so if you wish to photograph them, too, you may. You also may want to photograph the pop art on the eye-catching brightly colored walls. We highly recommend BUY ME STAND if you are looking for a stick-to-your-ribs hearty breakfast!

The Soba Morning Set (cold or hot) comes with rice of which there are three kinds from which to choose (aji gohan [flavored rice], natto gohan [rice with fermented soybeans], and tamago gohan [rice with egg])

It is located about a 5-minute walk up Dogenzaka toward the Tokyu Department Store from Shibuya Station. Soba Hiyamugi Sagatani Shibuya, which is open 24 hours a day, serves authentic soba.

Three types of breakfasts consisting of soba and rice costing 390 yen (including tax) each are offered between 5:00 and 10:00 a.m. and during those hours morisoba [chilled soba] costing 320 yen (including tax) is also served.

The first thing you do after entering the shop is purchase a food voucher of the dish you wish to order from the vending machine and give it to a waiter; then within about five minutes the dish you ordered will be delivered to you.

You can choose either hot or cold types, but it seems that most foreign visitors prefer hot soba. It comes topped with sliced green onion, naruto [kamaboko {boiled fish paste} with a spiral whirlpool-like pattern], and tenkasu [crunchy bits of deep-fried dough] plus you can help yourself to all the wakame [seaweed] you like which is in containers on the counter.

Soba seeds are milled into buckwheat flour from which the noodles are made right there in the shop. Served in a delicious hot soup they make an excellent breakfast to warm you up.

There are only 21 counter seats in this cozy shop. Being able to sit and eat soba at these low prices is pretty amazing. Cheap, fast, and delicious! This is a great place to eat authentic soba, a Japanese fast food, that is becoming popular throughout the world.

The Set B (550 yen, +200 with a drink, including tax) consisting of toast, sausages, soft-boiled egg, and coleslaw salad is a popular breakfast.

It is located about a 5-minute walk in the direction of Roppongi from Shibuya Station. The interior of Café 1886 at Bosch has the feel of an overseas cafe. The German automotive parts manufacturer Bosch has a history of about 130 years and opened this café, the first of its kind in the world, to promote Bosch in Japan.

It provides a Platz (meeting place in German) for creating new encounters. Four types of breakfasts are served between the hours of 8:30 and 11:00 in the morning. The sausages are authentic, having been imported from Germany, and the toast is also made from chewy German bread, developed especially to appeal to Japanese tastes.

For those who would prefer something lighter, there is the Set D (550 yen tax included) which is a salad with homemade dressing or Set C (450 yen including tax) that is a bowl of cereal with fruit and yogurt.

There are also comfortable sofas inside the shop giving it the feel of a hotel lounge. It tends to get a bit crowded in the afternoon from around noon with customers using it as a meeting place, so if you come in the morning when it is not very crowded you can send time here more leisurely. The counter seats also have electrical outlets. Whether you are alone or in a group, this is a comfortable place visit.
