FamilyMart handed the creative reins over to NIGO® (the genius behind A Bathing Ape and Human Made) and teamed him up with Masamichi Katayama, the head of the world-famous interior design firm Wonderwall®.

The result? A store that mimics the high-energy rush of a limited-edition pop-up shop. There's a literal "Rooftop Forest" to bring some greenery to the cityscape, and a giant, unnamed "F" mascot perched on the building to watch over your fried chicken purchases.

FamilyMart’s “Convenience Wear” clothing line has been a runaway success in Japan, and the Azabudai flagship takes it far beyond simply grabbing a pair of socks from a peg next to the umbrellas. Here, the full seasonal lineup gets its own dedicated shop-in-shop area, giving the space the feel of a compact fashion boutique.

There are even fitting rooms, so you can try on items like track pants before buying. Interactive touchscreens also suggest complete outfits and styling ideas, making it easier to coordinate the pieces. The area is topped off with large, high-fashion visuals featuring legendary Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano modeling the collection.

You don't even have to step inside the store to get your fix. The outdoor walk-up window, called FAMIMA STAND, lets you order premium drinks and Famichiki on the fly.

While coffee snobs will love the blends co-developed with World Brewers Cup Champion Tetsu Kasuya (featuring rare beans and a gorgeous floral Ethiopia Mocha), the real surprise is the tea menu. They are using actual espresso machines to brew fresh, high-pressure tea! You can get rich Earl Grey or Jasmine straight teas, creamy milk teas, or refreshing fruit teas. Oh, and you can add tapioca pearls as a topping. In a konbini!

Forget the standard mayo-heavy sandos (though we love them dearly). The "Urban Delicatessen" section here targets chic city dwellers with health-conscious, high-protein meals. Think fresh avocados, premium prosciutto, natural cheeses, and vibrant Asian-inspired flavors designed to look as good on your Instagram feed as they taste.

Japan loves a good mascot, and FamilyMart is officially stepping up its "IP business" game to share a little FAMIMA culture with the world. To capture the friendly, familiar vibe of a konbini, they've designed a brand-new official character—which appears to be a giant, walking blue letter "F".

While they haven't officially revealed a name for this little guy yet, FAMIMA PARK AZABUDAI will be the very first place you can buy original merchandise featuring its design! FamilyMart plans to eventually roll these character goods out to stores nationwide, but picking them up at the flagship means you get to rep the new mascot way before it goes mainstream.
