He was one of the founders of an industry giant that has the familiar logo of an apple. He was a genius who revolutionized the world through technology. He was a charismatic business leader...Steve Jobs.
Sadly he passed away in 2011, but he was reborn in 2018 through the impersonations of Razor Ramon RG!
RG Jobs makes a gallant appearance in Harajuku
This is a continuation of the previous edition where RG impersonates Steve Jobs and guides him around Harajuku, the town that is very popular with foreign visitors.
This time he takes him to the Mecca of “Harajuku kawaii culture” that has gained world attention.
A popular and widely acclaimed cafe where KAWAII culture can be enjoyed to the max!
KAWAII MONSTER CAFE HARAJUKU!
This colorful and crazy place was designed by Sebastian Masuda, the art director who also had a hand in the live performances of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu! It’s a restaurant.
Actually this restaurant has gained a passionate following overseas, too, with many foreign visitors to Japan saying they definitely want to visit it. This spot is like a theme park that can be enjoyed by not only KAWAII aficionados, but the whole family, too. RG Jobs seems a bit overwhelmed by the impact of his first encounter with “Harajuku kawaii culture”.
After finishing up at the reception he goes directly into the cafe. Passing through the middle of the character Mr. Choppy he is led into the interior. RG Jobs is a little unsure where he is being taken, but goes along anyway.
When the door opens...
This is what he sees...
A gigantic merry-go-round of sweets!
“Wow! Fantastic!”
Jobs exclaims at the colorful fantastic world of the glittery display spread out before him.
Waiting for him is Riri-chan, one of the Monster Girls.
She will be his escort today and show him around the place.
Jobs and Riri-chan immediately hit it off and take selfies....
It’s great that they appear to get along well.
The cute and crazy out-of-the-ordinary heightens the excitement!
The interior is divided into four zones, each with its own features.
Jobs is taken to the MUSHROOM DISCO, a large forest like room adorned with colorful mushrooms and outer space plants overhead.
All Jobs can say is “Crazy!” He appears to be thoroughly taken with the gaudy pop booth.
At this point RG Jobs discovers an unexpected collaboration with the cafe!
You can see the menu of the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE HARAJUKU on a smartphone or tablet!
“I never would have imagined it!”
He manages to say in Japanese.
On Riri-chan’s advice he orders some delicious food.
What in the world will come....? RG Jobs is beside himself with excitement!
A poison parfait!? A very suspicious-looking sweet appears before him.
This is the dessert concoction for which the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE HARAJUKU is famous!
The Colorful Poison Parfait Extreme! (2,300 yen excluding tax)
It’s as colorful and pop-like as the interior...is it really poisonous?
This is amazing....
Its vivid colors have a powerful impact!!
RG Jobs quickly snaps a photo with his smartphone.
“Instagrammable!” He really is letting loose...is SNS popular on the Other Side, too?!
As for the taste...
“Good tasting!”
He exclaims with much satisfaction. Decorated with super-colorful mousse, each having a different taste depending on its color, such as orange, strawberry, melon, apple, blueberry, and mint, it is surprisingly delicious! A taste of the roll cake and ice cream reveals that these were made with great attention, too. This sweet tastes as good as it looks!
There is only one thing you need to be careful of, and that is the mint mousse might make your tongue bright blue....
“Are these rubber bands?!” No, it’s pasta.
Here is another dish he ordered.
Do you know what it is? It’s pasta!
Colorful Rainbow Pasta (Painter) (1,300 yen excluding tax)
Jobs reaction when he sees the pasta is...
“No....These are rubber bands...?!”
The different strands of the pasta are so colorful that they definitely do resemble rubber bands.
Nevertheless, he takes a photo for SNS.
Apprehensively RG Jobs takes a bite..
“This is simple and delicious!” He approvingly exclaims.
It has a peperoncino flavor.
According to Riri-chan, all of the bright colors are made with organic coloring.
“Delicious! Delicious!”
It didn’t take him any time at all to happily devour the entire plate of pasta.
There even is a bar!
The BAR EXPERIMENT, with its large jellyfish motif, is a counter bar in the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE HARAJUKU where adults can hang out.
Jobs ordered the Cocktail Non-Drug ~Experiment~ (700 yen)
It has a ginger ale base and comes with two capsules, a red one containing Grenadine syrup and a blue one containing blue Curacao, with which you can experiment by mixing them or using them to make colorful layers in the drink.
First the red one...
Next blue...
And the experiment is a success!
The two layers look beautiful. RG Jobs is ecstatic!
“Amazing drink...Saiko...”
He took a photo for SNS of the drink being enjoyed in this chic, adult atmosphere.
After enjoying a delicious meal and drink, he next visits the souvenir corner.
RG Jobs wanted to get a Mr. Choppy Kids T-shirt (3,200 yen excluding tax) which is very popular.
The Mr. Choppy Cartoon Shirt (1,600 yen excluding tax) fit perfectly.
And looked amazingly good on him.
RG Jobs was crazy about the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE HARAJUKU. Apparently he thoroughly enjoyed the “Harajuku kawaii culture”. That’s great!
This is a spot that even the real Jobs would probably say it’s “Amazing!”
I’m certain that if the real Steve Jobs was alive today, he would most definitely enjoy Harajuku! If you have friends visiting from overseas, then I highly recommend you take them to Harajuku so they, too, can experience first-hand the pop culture of Japan that is gaining fame throughout the world.
