Tokyo Summer 2024: Snooze with Snorlax in a Pokémon Sleep Suite!
- Written by: Cassandra Lord
What? Pokémon Sleep is evolving! The cozy phone app has taken things to the next level with adorable Pokémon Sleep rooms and food at Grand Hyatt Tokyo.
There will be themed rooms, special restaurant meals, and packages with exclusive plushies and items to take home. So let’s take a look at what exactly to expect from the cuddly rooms this summer.
Dream of Pikachu and Snuggle with Snorlax
This July and August at Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Roppongi, some rooms will be transformed to create an exclusive Pokémon Sleep-themed experience.
If you haven’t already heard, Pokémon Sleep is an adorable sleep tracking app that puts your hours of snoozing towards the “drowsy power” of your Snorlax, which means more Pokémon appear to snooze with you. Now, you can snooze right alongside those Pokémon, and even take some home with you!
The Pokémon Sleep packages at Grand Hyatt Tokyo take direct inspiration from the app, complete with dozing Pokémon throughout the rooms.
There will be two different packages: The Pokémon Sleep Stay, and the Pokémon Sleep Suite Stay, both available from July 1 to August 31 (last check-out day September 1).
The Pokémon Sleep Stay
The Pokémon Sleep Stay standard plan takes place in the King or Twin rooms, which are a spacious 42m², but can be moved to other rooms of your choice. The room will be decorated with cute and relaxing Pokémon Sleep decorations including a giant dozing Snorlax blanket on the bed to lend you his drowsy powers after a day of Tokyo travels.
As part of the Pokémon Sleep Stay, you’ll also get one Pokémon Sleep set per room as part of the collaboration, which includes a cute tote bag, oversized tee, and a mini wellness bag with relaxing items like herbal tea and bath salts.
Price per night (2 guests): from 71,500 yen
The Pokémon Sleep Suite Stay
If you want to level up your stay and surround yourself with sleepy squishy Pokémon, then you can instead opt for the Pokémon Sleep Suite Stay. Held in the luxurious 120m² Chairman Suite, you’ll be greeted by a giant Snorlax plushie and a glamping-style living area, complete with soft and fluffy grass-like carpet to lounge on.
The suite stay comes with the same Pokémon Sleep set, but upgraded with an original backpack. In addition you’ll get four adorable Pokémon Sleep plushies to take home with you, and access to the club lounge and other premium facilities.
As for food, the Stay includes the breakfast buffet with special Pokémon Sleep themed pancakes, while the Suite Stay comes with a special Pokémon Sleep themed dinner and breakfast delivered straight to the room.
Price per night (2 guests): from 270,050 yen
A Taste of the Pokémon Sleep World
If you’ve already got your accommodation sorted but want to have a taste of what’s on offer, restaurants throughout the Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be serving Pokémon Sleep themed food and drink to join in the fun.
The special menu items will be available at The Oak Door, Fiorentina, and Fiorentina Pastry Boutique.
Fiorentina will be serving the cut and fruity Jigglypuff’s Seasonal Fruit Flan (3,520 yen) alongside a Craft Soda Pop or Neroli’s Flavored Tea, with a cute Pokémon Sleep Luncheon Mat. Whereas Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will have a selection of biscuits and sweet treats in different Pokémon Sleep designs.
For something a little more substantial, The Oak Door will be serving the impressive Snorlax Burger Set (6,600 yen) and Pikachu Dessert Burger Set (4,400 yen). The Snorlax Burger has the ever-sleepy Snorlax design on top surrounded by his signature blue, while the Pikachu Dessert Burger is stuffed full of sweet treats all in a bun in classic Pikachu yellow.
