The main highlight of Tambara Lavender Park is its sweeping highland lavender field, where around 50,000 plants bloom across a plateau 1,300 meters above sea level. While central Tokyo swelters in midsummer, July and August temperatures here average around 25°C (77°F), making it one of Kanto’s favorite cool-weather escapes. Add in the gentle breeze carrying the soothing scent of lavender, and you have the perfect place to slow down, breathe deep, and forget the city heat for a while.

Peak Bloom Season & Essential Visit Info for Tambara Lavender Park

Tambara Lavender Park grows several varieties of lavender, so visitors can enjoy purple blooms throughout the summer season. As a general guide, early-blooming varieties reach their best from mid- to late July, mid-blooming varieties peak from late July to early August, and late-blooming varieties are at their best from early to mid-August.

For the fullest, most dramatic lavender scenery, plan your visit between late July and early August.
