Located in Tokyo, with convenient access to the downtown area, Chofu is the home of the Tokyo Stadium (Ajinomoto Stadium), and the venue for the Rugby World Cup this year.
With historical buildings such as Jindaiji, which boasts a history of 1300 years, lots of nature and greenery, yet still being so close to the city center, it is a very popular spot for sightseeing visitors.
Without further ado, here are five convenient gourmet spots where you can grab lunch before the game, celebrate with some drinks afterwards, or sit down for a full meal.
1. Uoine: Enjoy Fish and Sake
The shopkeepers of this seafood izakaya order fresh seafood from the market every day, along with Japanese sake. Not only do they offer sake that pairs well with the seafood, but they also have shochu, fruit liquors, and classic liquors such as cocktails and whiskey lining the shelves.
The Omakase Assorted Sashimi dish brings 2 servings for ¥3000 (excluding tax) and is perfect to enjoy with your sake. Tuna is the main ingredient here, and you can enjoy plenty more seasonal seafoods chosen by the shopkeeper according to season. By all means, order yourself a glass and give this dish a try.
One of their features is how particular they are about the quality control of their alcohol, so the taste of the sake you drink will always be in the best condition. It is also close to Tobitakyu Station near the stadium, and a place where you can enjoy the marriage of seafood and sake to the fullest.
