Next to all kinds of cakes and desserts imaginable, savory dishes such as omelet rice and sandwiches provide for a nice change of flavors once you’ve saturated that cake craving. Salon de Sweets is located in Tokyo Solamachi, right at the foot of the famous Tokyo Skytree. The buffet offers around 30 different types of amazingly delicious dessert creations, such as Earl Gray chiffon cake and Tiramisu. Especially delightful are the seasonal fruit tarts, looking like you’ve stepped right in the middle of a Wonderland-style tea party. To balance these rich dessert options, Salon de Sweets’ menu also includes about 30 savory dishes. Enjoy French toast with all-you-can-eat toppings during lunch and beef steak that’s been carefully grilled for 30 minutes for dinner! The café and restaurant lets you enter until 9:30 p.m., so we highly recommend coming by in the evening to recharge your energies after a long day of sightseeing.

The dinner buffet costs 2,592 yen per person (tax included) and lets you eat ‘til you drop for 90 minutes. From adorable macarons to strawberry treats, get your tea party fix at Salon de Sweets.

Souvenir is a popular cake specialty shop right next to the Kuhonbutsu Station, a scenic neighborhood on Tokyo’s south. Next to over-the-counter cake sale, the shop holds a 90-minute all-you-can-eat buffet three times a day (at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.) for 2,500 yen (tax included). Reservations aren’t possible at Souvenir, so you might want to think about arriving early – this buffet is extremely popular!

We recommend aiming for the 11:00 a.m. buffet on weekdays. With pancakes, quiches, soups, and more, it makes for a wonderful brunch that’ll give you all the energy you need for extensive sightseeing! Especially delicious is the shop’s classic shortcake, one of between 15 and 20 cake varieties always on offer. Of course, seasonal creations and fruits are a big part of the selection. Free drinks are part of the buffet as well and we highly recommend trying to pair your dessert selection with the various kinds of tea blends. Also, feel free to fancy up your coffee with syrups and spices!

Ikebukuro is a shopping and amusement paradise, so it’s natural that after a long day of excitement, you’ll want to rest your legs and treat yourself to great food. Head over to Sunshine City Prince Hotel’s restaurant called Chef’s Palette. It was renewed in 2016 and its mega-popular sweets buffet can now be enjoyed both at lunch and for dinner.

The highlight of Chef’s Palette undoubtedly are the many demonstrations by the chefs. There’s the “Ice Cook,” a frozen plate on which fantastic ice cream creations are prepared, as well as the chocolate fountain that is used to beautifully decorate fruits and marshmallows. That’s a visual pleasure you’ll only get to indulge in at Chef’s Palette. The dinner buffet from 6:00 p.m. even features all-you-can-eat Häagen-Dazs ice cream. One of the good things about this buffet is that reservations are entirely possible, so you won’t need to worry about waiting or arriving early.

Twice a month, the “Happy Sweets Orchestra” is held, an all-you-can-eat offer that will spoil you with masterfully created desserts and sweets. Instead of a buffet, you get to order as much as you like and thus is a recommendation if you want to feel that luxurious vibe of being treated to as much as you want without having to get up at all.

Next to looking absolutely magnificent, the sweets are carefully prepared from choice ingredients. You’ll be surprised by the subtle sweetness of the gorgeous desserts – the composition of flavors is so amazing, it’s hard to not keep ordering more and more! Reservations can be made via phone about 1 month prior to the event. Don’t hesitate to call!
