In the 1980s, Mr. Kamakura, who would later become the owner of the inn, gathered local lumberjacks, hunters, and other people who knew about forests and organized a search party. They ventured into the dense forest of Sequoia National Park. After a mind-boggling journey that lasted about a month, they finally found a fallen redwood tree that was 1,650 years old and had a diameter of 5 meters. After overcoming many difficulties, it was transported to Japan and built as the current REDWOOD INN. This can be seen throughout the hotel, including the 75cm beams and the 3.2m diameter open-air bath made from a thick trunk. The building was modeled after the Grand Canyon Forest Rangers' station, which protects the redwood forests. Please take your time and relax amidst the 1650 years of tree rings.
