An open-air bath made from a hollowed-out redwood log, aged 1650 years and 3.2 meters in diameter, which is now considered a natural monument. The bath is exceptional, whether you soak while gazing at the night sky, amidst the morning mist, or in the snowy winter scenery. Redwoods are the world's largest trees, exceeding 100 meters in height, and have long been cherished in the United States as 'God's trees.'Being treated as a natural monument, logging was prohibited, and at the time, only wind-fallen trees could be harvested (currently, both harvesting and transportation are completely banned). In the 1980s, Mr. Kamakura, the future innkeeper, organized a search team comprising local lumberjacks, hunters, and other forest specialists. They ventured deep into the dense forests of Sequoia National Park. After an almost month-long, arduous journey, they finally discovered a 1650-year-old redwood tree with a diameter of 5 meters that had fallen.Overcoming numerous challenges, it was transported to Japan and became the current REDWOOD INN.Features such as the 3.2-meter open-air bath, made entirely from a 75 cm beam and thick trunk, are incorporated throughout the inn.The building's design was inspired by the ranger station of the Grand Canyon's forest patrol, which has long protected the redwood forests. Please relax slowly within the annual rings of the year 1650.
