The open-air bath is a log carved out of a 1,650-year-old redwood tree with a diameter of 3.2 meters, which is now considered a natural monument. It is a special experience to take a bath while looking up at the night sky, or in the morning mist or snowy winter scenery. Redwoods are the largest trees in the world, over 100 meters tall, and in America they have long been loved by many people as "divine trees." Treated as a natural monument, they were not allowed to be cut down, and at the time, cutting was prohibited except for trees that had fallen due to wind (now, both cutting and transporting are completely prohibited). In the 1980s, Mr. Kamakura, who would later become the owner of the inn, gathered local lumberjacks, hunters, and other people who knew about forests and organized a search party. They ventured into the dense forest of Sequoia National Park. After a mind-boggling journey that lasted about a month, they finally found a fallen redwood tree that was 1,650 years old and had a diameter of 5 meters. After overcoming many difficulties, it was transported to Japan and built as the current REDWOOD INN. This can be seen throughout the hotel, including the 75cm beams and the 3.2m diameter open-air bath made from a thick trunk. The building was modeled after the Grand Canyon Forest Rangers' station, which protects the redwood forests. Please take your time and relax amidst the 1650 years of tree rings.

There are two types of open-air baths from which you can see the sea. One is a European-style bath, and the other is a bath for charter.
