For foreigners, hospitality will be provided in Japanese. I don't understand other languages. I have a translation machine ready, but I'm not confident. Thank you for your cooperation.
We hope to share the joys of the seasons with everyone by creating an environment that involves small-scale farming, growing rice and vegetables, gradually planting fruit trees to increase the amount of fruit, and small-scale forestry making firewood. This is a Kyoto Kitayama-style farmhouse built over 200 years ago that can be rented as an experiential farm stay. The house is located at the foot of the mountain in the village, in an area where flora and fauna coexist, with seasonal breezes, morning air, and the sounds of deer. This is an experience of living in a house that has been around since the days when there was no electricity, gas, or water. Relaxing bathing in an iron bathtub heated with firewood (hot water and showers are available). The taste of rice cooked with firewood (common kitchen utensils such as a gas stove and microwave are available). The fire in the hearth (cooking your own meals such as grilling on a charcoal grill, hot pot, and sukiyaki is also recommended). Air, Wi-Fi, Chopping firewood, Catching insects and frogs, Harvesting vegetables in the fields depending on the season. There are still houses nearby that have been inhabited for hundreds of years. Supermarkets, convenience stores, local markets, etc. are about 15 minutes away by car. There is also a short trek to a waterfall about 20 minutes by car, and a hot spring about 30 minutes by car. Please be careful of the natural environment and safety when handling fire.
A ryokan with only 3 rooms managed by a couple. Mizuki, Natsumi and Kaori guest rooms have a terrace with a beautiful view. This small Japanese inn is located near Shimoda Station in the center of Izu Shimoda, known for its white sand beaches, the history of the Black Ships' arrival and the opening of Japan to the world, and the port town of hot springs. With Shimoda Fuji, the older sister of Mt. Fuji in local folklore, as its backdrop, it is within walking distance of the ropeway, the streetscape of namako walls, Shimoda Port, Perry Road, and more. The natural environment on the premises is so well-designed that you'll forget you're near Shimoda Station and the town, and once you pass through the gate, you'll be in another world, surrounded by the quiet appearance of the Japanese inn and the atmosphere of seasonal flowers. The building is Japanese architecture, a single-story building with a total of five rooms, and all rooms have a cypress indoor bath, an Izu stone open-air bath with Shimoda hot spring water flowing through it, and a miniature garden. Even while indoors, the wild flowers are a delight to the eye, making it perfect for spending a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both breakfast and dinner meals are served in your room, so you can enjoy private time with your family and loved ones without any worries. Dinner is a multi-course meal made mainly with local ingredients, and for breakfast you can choose between Japanese or Western cuisine. The facilities and furnishings in the rooms are all overflowing with Japanese attention to detail, and even more so, the spirit of hospitality is evident everywhere.
