20 Ryokan in Tokyo and Surroundings

Travel via the alpine route from Tateyama Station or Ogizawa Station. Please note that private cars are not allowed on the route. It is about a 15-minute walk from the final destination, Murodo Station. Depending on the snow conditions and weather, you may need to bring proper mountain climbing equipment.

This small inn places great importance on privacy, with three private baths that are fed by the oldest natural hot spring in Shima Onsen, as well as rooms with semi-open-air baths. There are also signs in English in the building so that guests visiting Japan for the first time can feel at ease.
