Arrived in Japan in 1987 as the executive chef at Daimaru, Shinsaibashi, Kyoto.Though he moved to California, he returned to Japan in 1991. Opened his own restaurant in 2002, co-founding Ristorante Luxor in Shirokanedai. Later, he opened Mario i Sentieri in Nishiazabu in 2008, which continues to operate today.
