In 2026, two icons of Japan come together: the Shinkansen and Tokyo DisneySea®. The result is the limited-time “Magical Jubilee Shinkansen,” a specially designed train inspired by the park’s 25th anniversary. From June 10, 2026, it will operate along the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines.
A Mysterious Blue Reflecting the Sea: The “Jubilee Blue” Shinkansen

The train’s exterior is based on “Jubilee Blue,” the official color of Tokyo DisneySea’s®25th anniversary. Mickey Mouse and friends appear in special anniversary costumes, alongside familiar park icons such as the AquaSphere and Mount Prometheus. The overall design reflects the celebratory theme without overwhelming the train’s sleek look.
A First for JR East: Disney-Themed Headrests and Interior Details

One notable feature is the use of specially designed seat headrests, a first for a JR East Shinkansen. Inside, details such as curtains, stickers, and even onboard melodies are coordinated around the “Sparkling Jubilee” theme, creating a consistent atmosphere throughout the train.

Enjoy a Magical Journey

The train’s operating schedule for the following month is announced on the official website on the 25th of each month. Commemorative photo spots are also planned at select stations.
If your timing aligns, this themed Shinkansen offers a slightly different way to travel between regions while experiencing a touch of the anniversary atmosphere along the way.
