Hilton Tokyo Sunset Beach Australian Beer Garden (Shinjuku)

Tokyo Hilton’s Beer Garden returns for its 2026 season with a fresh summer theme inspired by Australia. This venue brings together resort-style relaxation with the hotel’s signature urban sophistication. Their annual beer garden is set on the seventh floor of the Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku, with commanding views over the surrounding greenery, making it an open-air terrace offering a breezy escape above Tokyo. The evening lighting, together with the lush greenery and a laid-back atmosphere, make for a relaxing long evening.
This year’s drink menu features standard Japanese beers alongside a pale ale from Australia, and these are paired with plates inspired by Australia, featuring bold flavors. Guests can also enjoy refreshing signature cocktails while tucking into an Australian Bunnings Sandwich or Haymarket Crispy Dumplings. If you are in a celebratory mood, you can opt for all-you-can-drink Brut wine or champagne for an extra fee.
Entry to the beer garden requires a reservation, and there is a set two-hour drinking option that costs 7,000 yen per person (excluding any food) in May, June, and September, rising to 8,000 yen per person on Fridays and Saturdays. Both prices increase by 500 yen in July and August. Food orders cost extra, and opting for wine or champagne incurs additional fees. While its spacious layout and relaxed vibe make it ideal for large groups and after-work gatherings, seating also costs extra at 1,000 per person. With this summer featuring Australian-themed dishes, the Tokyo Hilton Beer Garden continues to be one of the city’s most versatile summer destinations.

Forest Beer Garden

The Forest Beer Garden welcomed its 2026 season in April, and once again, it offers a lush, nature-immersive theme that really sets it apart from other beer gardens. Located exclusively within the massive Meiji Jingu Gaien area, this beer garden lets you sit surrounded by towering trees and open greenery, and the addition of tarp tents makes you feel like you have gone camping despite being in central Tokyo. Nihonbashi Takashimaya BBQ Beer Garden

Nihonbashi Takashimaya BBQ Beer Garden opened its 2026 season at the beginning of April, under the concept of elegance that blends classic department-store sophistication with the fun of open-air dining. Located atop the historic Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., the venue offers sweeping city views and a polished terrace atmosphere. Its theme is very much focused on a premium BBQ experience, as reflected in the course prices (see below) and the pairing of high-quality ingredients with all-you-can-drink in the heart of Tokyo.
The 2026 menu highlights a generous BBQ selection built around thick-cut bacon, herb-marinated pork, and jerk chicken, with the premium course offering up black Japanese Wagyu beef and fresh lobster. While this is certainly a much more refined setup, this venue also features the unique options of a kids’ BBQ course and the choice to bring your own meat (from the meat section of the supermarket on the basement floor of the department store). This makes it very family-friendly.
The standard course costs 7,800 yen per person; a casual plan with a smaller food offering costs 6,800 yen per person; and the premium BBQ course costs 9,300 yen per person. The BYOM course costs 5,000 yen per person, and includes all-you-can-drink, while the kids’ BBQ course for children at elementary school or younger is a very reasonable 1,800 yen. With its focus on an elegant BBQ offering, stylish setting, and evening lighting, it very much suits relaxed date nights or small, intimate groups.

Kiyo Ginza Beer Garden (Granbell Square)

Kiyo Ginza Beer Garden opened its rooftop beer garden season in Tokyo in March, with a refined, modern theme that blends Ginza’s elegance with the relaxed charm of open-air summer dining. Located atop the Kiyo Steak Ginza building, the terrace offers a truly stylish escape with city views, sleek décor, and a sophisticated atmosphere. The concept at this beer garden is very much on premium dining with high-quality ingredients, and a focus on small groups and intimacy.
There are two courses available: the Chicken Leg course and the Cajun Seafood course. The first course features Japanese-style chicken legs together with fries, yellowtail carpaccio, and Mackenzie cheese, and all-you-can-drink for two hours. The second course is a premium one, focusing on seafood (lobster, prawns, crab, clams, scallops, etc.) along with fries and seasonal vegetables. The emphasis on quality ingredients elevates the classic beer garden format into something more refined.
As this is a more sophisticated experience, the Chicken Leg course costs 6,000 yen per person, which is strong value for a Ginza rooftop experience, while the more premium Cajun Seafood course costs 10,000 yen per person. Its intimate, compact layout makes it absolutely perfect for small groups and special date nights, and Kiyo Ginza Beer Garden stands out as a sophisticated summer dining experience.
