BEAMS New store!
On April 28th, BEAMS opened a new store in Shinjuku, Tokyo called "BEAMS JAPAN". The shop takes up six floors from the basement level to the fifth floor and will be organized by different categories including: food, Japanese brand items, fashion, collaboration, culture, art, and crafts. This shop will be a transmission point for BEAMS “TEAM JAPAN,” a project which curates a wide variety of categories with “Japan” as a keyword. Along with the shop itself, several new restaurants and coffee stands will be introduced at BEAMS locations.
Located only a few steps from the A2 or A5 exit of Tokyo Metro’s Shinjuku Sanchome exit, BEAMS JAPAN is easy to find! As you approach the entrance, you will be greeted by a lantern motif which displays a special icon that represents all 47 prefecture of Japan.
Souvenirs and more!
On the first floor, you will find a great selection of kitchen items, foodstuffs, tools, cosmetics, and souvenirs made in Japan! Everything on display is reminiscent of a Japanese festival and shrine with beautiful wood displays, highlighted by bonsai trees. Items such as kendama (A ball and cup toy), wooden sandals, maneki neko (beckoning cat), folding fans, cups, and t-shirts are available! Each item on display is selected from various prefectures across Japan after careful consideration and are of the highest quality!
Fashion and Art
On floors 2 through 5, you can find a great assortment of fashion and arts which range from traditional Japanese, modern fashion, and pop-culture specialty items! You can find the ever-popular sukajan jackets (embroidered jackets),BEAMS original wear, as well as selected items from B JIRUSHI YOSHIDA. On the 4th floor, you can check out fashion and goods from Japan’s pop-culture scene, which includes vintage boomboxes that have been restored to their original state. Finally, on the 5th floor, you will an assortment of arts and Japanese craft goods like kokeshi dolls, pottery, and more!
Craft liquor & food
In the basement floor you can find the Craft Grill restaurant. Directed by Kundō Koyama, the Craft Grill restaurant aims to provide a taste of Japan. Craft liquor which was meticulously chosen from all over Japan can be enjoyed with their signature dish, the Hundred Year Rice Curry, which was first served over one hundred years ago at the Kanaya Nikko Hotel. Lunch selections start at 1,800 yen, including the Hundred Year Rice Curry, and the dinner selections start at 1,000 yen. Choices include a variety of seafood, pasta, and grilled meats with a selection of over 50 craft liquors!
In the first floor, where you can find the specialty coffee shop: Sarutahiko Coffee. Whether you are inside the store or outside, you can enjoy their limited “Japan Blend” Coffee, which is very popular among the locals!
