東京に唯一残る、花菖蒲の歴史的名所。今はマンションや高速道路に囲まれていますが、江戸時代は、田園地帯にある行楽の名所で、浮世絵にも多数登場した名園。周辺には、他の菖蒲園もたくさんでき、戦前まで賑わっていましたが、堀切菖蒲園を除き、戦争中の食糧供給のための田畑への変更、戦後の都市化により、消えてしまいました。葛飾区の園内整備も、原型からはほど遠く、人工的ですが、それでも、よくぞ残ってくれたという場所...Visited July 2023 -

If you like this flower, this is the place to go. The park is quite small (significantly smaller than Mizumoto Park which also has the flower) but has lots of variety. Have been here multiple times...Visited May 2015
