Stay with Snorlax? Grand Hyatt Tokyo's Summer Pokémon Resort Experience Is the Ultimate Sleepover
- Written by: LIVE JAPAN Editor
This summer, Pikachu, Lapras, and friends are checking in at Grand Hyatt Tokyo—and you’re invited to join them! From now until August 31, 2025, the hotel is transforming select rooms into a tropical Pokémon paradise. Whether you're a longtime fan or just love a playful escape, this limited-time collaboration offers two unique ways to experience the magic of Pokémon in luxurious resort style.

A Tropical Pokémon Island in the Heart of Tokyo

Imagine stepping into your room and being greeted by giant plushies of Lapras and Snorlax lounging beneath palm trees. The centerpiece of this collaboration is the ultra-exclusive Pokémon Beach Resort Suite, which turns the hotel’s Chairman Suite into a dreamlike island getaway.

With lush tropical décor, ocean-hued accents, and whimsical Pokémon touches throughout, the suite is a paradise for guests of all ages. Only one group per night gets to enjoy this fantasy suite, so you'll be in rare company.

Pokémon-Inspired Meals Fit for a Champion

This stay isn’t just about looks: your taste buds are part of the adventure too! The suite package includes a gourmet dinner featuring a Bulbasaur burger with grilled pineapple and original BBQ sauce, a Squirtle ricotta tart, and a Piplup-themed soda.

And in the morning? A Pikachu fruit pancake awaits you.
For those staying in the regular Pokémon Beach Resort Stay plan, breakfast includes the same adorable Pikachu pancake alongside a full buffet at The French Kitchen.
Take the Memories Home

Both packages come with exclusive Pokémon collaboration goodies. The suite guests receive luxurious Garnier-Thiebaut bathrobes and towels, beach bags, T-shirts, and caps, plus plush Pikachu and Piplup dolls to take home.

Standard plan guests receive a Pokémon-themed beach bag, cap, T-shirt, and a mini Lapras plushie. The suite’s giant Lapras and Snorlax? Sadly, those have to stay behind.
Dining In? Enjoy a Pokémon-Themed Summer Feast!

You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s playful new Pokémon collaboration, running from June 20 to August 31.
At The Oak Door, savor two limited-edition burgers: a Bulbasaur Tropical Burger with a 100% beef patty, grilled pineapple, and smoked pork shoulder, and a sweet Mimikyu Dessert Burger layered with panna cotta and fresh fruit. Both dishes are served with a Piplup Blue Soda and an original Pokémon luncheon mat.
Meanwhile, at Fiorentina, cool off with colorful desserts like the Pikachu Yogurt Gelato Parfait, Bellossom Panna Cotta, and Squirtle Ricotta Cheese Tart, each bursting with tropical flavors.
For details, see The Oak Door's website here, and Fiorentina's website here. Be sure to book ahead, as daily quantities are limited.
A Limited-Time Escape for All Ages
With only one suite and ten themed rooms available each night, this is one summer getaway that promises exclusivity and fun in equal measure. Whether you're treating yourself, planning a surprise staycation, or looking to add some charm to your Tokyo trip, Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s Pokémon experience is a unique way to relax, recharge, and enjoy Japan.
