Description
This art museum has been beloved by citizens of Nerima since it opened in 1985. The museum puts much effort into holding exhibitions of local artwork, planning shows focused on artists connected to Nerima, and collecting material. Its collection holds over 6,700 modern and contemporary works, and as the representative place for art in Nerima, the museum is now planning exhibitions of not only Japanese but also Western art. A shop sells illustrated catalogs as well as goods featuring the original character Neribi. Next to the museum is a green space with some 30 works of animal art, such as a four-meter bear made from plants, a bronze lion, and a colourful giraffe. A three-minute walk from Nakamurabashi Station on the Seibu Railway.
